Casa Gargano overlooks the sea of ​​Castiglione di Ravello, a few steps from the beach. The house is located on the first floor of a building dating back to before 1890, along the coastal road built to connect Amalfi to Vietri sul Mare, inaugurated in 1853 by King Ferdinand II of Bourbon. The house is accessed from the tiny straight road before the breathtaking curve that leads to the beach. Completely renovated and refurbished (April 2019), its long characteristic blue balcony offers a splendid view of the sea. On the right, a postcard view looms, the famous image of Atrani with its bell tower of the Church of Santa Maria Maddalena, depicted in world travel guides and magazines. On the opposite side, the view runs to the crest of the Avvocata mountain (850 meters above sea level) at whose foot lies the Maiori seafront. In addition to its extraordinary panorama, Casa Gargano, located in the territory of the magnificent Ravello "City of Music", 5 kilometers away, offers practical and logistical advantages that are difficult to find together in a territory full of curves and steps like that of the Amalfi Coast: first of all its easy accessibility, since the house can be reached by private car or by Sita bus on the Salerno / Amalfi / Ravello route. Paid parking is available in our private garage for motorcycles, bicycles, and cars (subject to availability, paid parking in our private garage underneath the apartment for a car no longer than 4, 40 metres, or, if booking both apartments, 2 cars with a total length of no more than 9 meters). Furthermore, Casa Gargano is only 50 meters and 160 steps from the beach of Castiglione, one of the most beautiful of the entire Amalfi Coast. The delightful seaside village of Atrani is less than 1 kilometer away, while the very famous Amalfi is 3 kilometers away. At the Castiglione crossroads (150 meters) there is a small supermarket and bar stocked with all basic necessities. From March to October it is particularly pleasant to reach the House by sea through maritime connections from Salerno (boarding in the area in front of the train station) to Amalfi, from where you can reach Castiglione by SITA bus (departures every hour, direction Salerno or Ravello, the journey takes less than 10 minutes). The House is composed of two completely autonomous and independent apartments, which bear the name of our parents (apartment 1. Giovanna, and apartment 2. Don Luigi) who bought it 60 years ago, when Don Luigi (as they still remember him today on the Amalfi Coast) founded his business as an olive oil trader that delighted gourmets and renowned restaurants and hotels in the area. The two apartments are both equipped with a full kitchen, have two bathrooms each, summer/winter air conditioning and a laundry area. The house reflects the owners' passion for reading and music; that's why you will find books in several languages, a Thomann sound reproduction system and (in the Don Luigi apartment) a piano. In keeping with the era of the building's construction, the apartments have been furnished and finished with period or vintage elements mixed with contemporary furnishings and structures, with the result of offering environments that on the one hand proudly display the signs of their history and at the same time offer all the comforts of contemporaneity, in a welcoming context in which the guest can feel as comfortable as possible. For specific needs, large families or special events, the two apartments can be rented as a single interconnecting unit that can accommodate up to 9 people (with 2 double bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room with kitchenette and sleeping area, laundry space). Apartment 1. Giovanna: 45 m2, 1 bedroom, 1 living room with kitchenette and sleeping area, 2 bathrooms, can accommodate up to 4 people. The entire apartment overlooks the sea. It consists of 1 double bedroom with en-suite bathroom (toilet, shower, sink, bidet) and a large living room with kitchenette (induction hob, fridge, dishwasher, microwave oven), smart TV, sleeping area (2 single beds) and bathroom (toilet, tub/shower, sink, bidet). For music lovers we will be happy to give free access to the piano located in the living room. In addition, the apartment is equipped with a sound system that can play music simply by connecting with your smartphone. Apartment 2. Don Luigi: 51 m2, 1 bedroom, 1 kitchen, 1 living room with sleeping area, 2 bathrooms (one of which is also designed for people with disabilities), can accommodate up to 5 people. It has a large living room overlooking the sea on two sides, a bedroom and a kitchen both on the mountain side. It consists of 1 double bedroom (mountain side, equipped with internal window with indirect sea view) with en-suite bathroom (toilet, shower, sink, bidet), kitchen (mountain side) with induction hob, fridge, TV, dishwasher, microwave oven, and a large living room with sleeping area (double bed, 1 single bed), bathroom (toilet, shower, sink, bidet), smart TV. Note: the WASHING MACHINE/DRYER is in the outdoor area: the service is subject to charges (see below under "Extras on request") EXTRA SERVICES (on request): Washing - drying of clothes: 12 euros for 1 load* up to 8 kilos. The cost applies to each individual bag delivered for washing. * Note: the clothes must be pre-selected by the guest (we recommend that you do not mix clothes of the same color, or delicate and resistant clothes, etc. in the same bag) and placed in the specific bag that we will deliver to you upon request and left in front of the door, after informing us. We assume no responsibility for clothes damaged by washing errors of clothes not pre-selected by the guest. The service is active from Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 2 pm.
